Cornerstone Homes has been providing quality homes for over 35 years. The company was started in 1983 by Fred Meister under the name of F.G. Meister Construction. For the rest of the century, the company flourished building custom homes in Stark, Summit, and Wayne Counties.
In 1998, Fred was introduced to Bill Schneider through his daughter, Maria. Working together, Fred and Bill undertook the daunting task of renovating an old, one-room church that Bill had acquired years earlier. The mid 1800’s structure was in desperate need of more than a little TLC. After months of late nights and long weekends, the old church had been transformed into a home. In 2000, Bill and Maria were married and that “old church” became their home.
In 2004, Fred and Bill became partners and the company name was changed for F.G. Meister Construction to Cornerstone Homes of Winesburg, Inc. Cornerstone Homes continues to build on the reputation that Fred has built into every home.
